The leadership of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC), Kogi State chapter, yesterday, called on Governor Yahaya Bello, to immediately resign from office or be impeached over his alleged electoral fraud through double registration.
The party made this demand at a press conference in Abuja, where it stated that the alleged involvement of Bello in double voter’s registration had not only embarrassed and impugned on the party’s image but also the entire citizenry of the state.
The Chairman of the Kogi state chapter of the APC, Alhaji Hadi Ametuo, who briefed Journalists with other party leaders in the State including senators Dino Melaye, Mohammed Ohiare, Ocheja Dangana, Abdulrahman Abubakar, vowed that the APC would not allow Bello destroy it’s image and integrity.
Ametuo further stated that double registration was a serious electoral crime as pointed out by the INEC and should not be ignored.
According to the chairman and other party chieftains present at the briefing, he said: “This is the kind of crime that the state House of Assembly which enjoys the mandate of the people cannot be overlooked.”
